    RALEIGH, N.C. (May 30, 2017) ­- Wake Tech students have an exciting new opportunity to learn from the best: Lenovo has brought on 12 students as paid interns who will work at the company this summer, kicking off a partnership that will be offered on a semester basis. While most of the internships are in information technology, there will be additional opportunities in areas such as marketing and business analytics. Participating students also will earn college credit through Wake Tech’s Work-Based Learning program.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (May 19, 2017) ­- Three Culinary Arts students at Wake Tech have earned scholarships in a unique way: they created delicious entrées – using ingredients from McDonald’s! Seven students were given a list of ingredients, not knowing they came from McDonald’s new “Signature Crafted” menu, and asked to create a dish. They were judged on creativity, taste and appearance. The competition took place today in the Culinary Arts kitchen on Wake Tech’s Main Campus.

    First place went to Monica Basantes, who created a bacon-wrapped meatloaf with savory bread pudding and roasted tomatoes. She was awarded a $1,000 scholarship....

    RALEIGH, N.C.  (March 20, 2017) - The Wake County Board of Commissioners has appropriated funds for new projects on several Wake Tech campuses. The FY 2017 Capital Improvement Plan totals $24.4 million dollars for these new projects as well as $1 million for the IT infrastructure required to expand online programs.
    This year’s budget includes funds for the following:
    $6.6 million for RTP-2, RTP Campus

    RALEIGH, N.C. (March 1, 2017) - Wake Tech students and community members can get free tax preparation and filing services at Wake Tech. The services are offered through the college’s partnership with the Single Stop program.

    Single Stop is a nonprofit program focused on reducing poverty and promoting economic mobility by connecting people to benefits and services with a coordinated, “one-stop shop” approach. Wake Tech is one of only four community colleges offering Single Stop. Tax preparation is one of the many services Single Stop provides.     RALEIGH, N.C. (November 30, 2016) - A team of Wake Tech students beat university competitors – some of them grad students – from Duke, UNC, NC State, and NC Central in an IT competition sponsored by the International Association for Software Architects (IASA). The “Student Architecture Showdown” took place on September 22 at the association’s annual conference in Raleigh. Wake Tech students Brian Coe, Chris Eissens, Stephen Jamieson, and Jamek Melvin made up the winning team.
